Weapon of influence #3 Social Proof

Just imagine being in a room and everyone is standing and you are the only one sitting down
and you noticed...

“Ohh crap...'
You jump up without a second thought wondering after a second...
“Why is everyone standing?”

But the logic after didn't matter to the sign that you were doing something that was NOT
socially acceptable at the time and you just can't look bad..
What was it that motivated you to stand?
I will tell you...
SOCIAL PROOF
What is social proof?
People will do things that they see other people are doing...
Our brains have to take in so much information that it would be impossible to function, so our brains look for a shortcut to make a decision about what is good, bad, socially acceptable for the given situation that we are in.

So how does it work?

When we see person after person say or do the same thing we think its the right thing to do.
Sometime even when it is against our own best interests.

Think about it...

In cults where people kill themselves, what would possess a person to violate there basic survival instincts and kill themselves, if not because they have seen enough other people do that in there mind it becomes SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE...

“Well Christian that is just crazy I would never do anything like that...”

I will tell you IS THAT RIGHT?

Lets just take an everyday infomercial or the shopping network...
Or whatever else pops into your head....
You see all the people giving testimonials on how there lives changed because of giving or
buying the product or service..
We watch and watch, person after person, and soon we see someone that looks or talks just
like us and what do we do?
We pick up the phone and order.
Why?
You saw so many that had what you want and it appeared that people who want this type of
result take this kind of action, just look at all the success story's.
And you don't think your business opportunity knows this?

Why do you think the top earners always come out and share there rags to riches story over
and over again.

The more story's they hear the easier it is to say yes...
“But Christian how do I use this in my business?”
Well I am glad you asked....
You start out by helping five people get a goal, like make video's and get some free leads.
You tell them I don't need your money I just want me to do a testimonial.
Those testimonials are worth there wait in Gold...
Just see your prospect typing in your name to Youtube and they see these 5 testimonial
video's talking about you, do you think that may have an influence on your prospect?

YOU ARE RIGHT....

HOME WORK....
For a social proof case study look at you a infomercial in the next couple days to take notes of how they do the testimonials, the angle in which they shoot the video's, what background the video in...

All these things play a factor in if you take it as social proof or a setup by a marketer...
Social Proof Case Study Notes...

Weapons of influence Weapon #4

It's 4:00 am and you are a little afraid because you don't have you drivers license on your and
you are tired and your buddy has had to much to drink and couldn't drive.
So you do your best to be careful not to get pulled over because all of your buddies empties
are in the back seat and you don't want to take the chance of being accused of having open
alcohol in the car by the police.

SUDDENLY you see it...

Flashing lights in your rear view mirror, and your heart begins beating faster...
Your start thinking “Ahh man this car smells like beer and I have not even been drinking,
CRAP!”
The flashlight taps on your window...
Your license and registration sir...
Without hesitation you open the glove box and feverishly search for proof and you can't find
it...
Your palms suddenly become very sweaty as you begin to look for you license and explain
that it is not your car...

S T O P!!!

Wait a minute, this cop is human just like you, what the heck are you so nervous about?
I can tell you it's not that he is carrying a gun...

Not the fact he can arrest you...

Not the fact that you did something wrong...

And by the way, why in the world did you immediately do exactly what he told you to do with
no question, it was just automatic wasn't it?

Let me ask you, if you could use that same power in your video's wouldn't they be powerful?
Well I am here to tell you what weapon that is...

AUTHORITY...

“Christian What is the authority principle?
People will tend to obey authority figures, even if they are asked to perform objectionable
acts.
In layman's terms, if we view or PERCIEVE someone as having authority we have a
automatic response to command just like with the police officer.

Now establishing authority offline come with uniforms and celebrity status...
Online it can come with PROOF that you are hanging out with leaders or that you ARE the
leader...

“Christian how do I prove I am a leader?”

There are many strategies...

You can prove you are a leader by sharing with people what you know and helping them
achieve results and have them give SOCIAL PROOF that you are a leader.

Next you can use a strategy my upline calls "piggybacking credibility".

This is the strategy of being the ultimate reporter...

You tell people about who and where you got your information and as you use the authority's
name you assume his authority with your prospect.

'My mentor was on a private call with Dennis Karganilla the mastermind behind MLM Goldmine and he revealed to us the next big thing that will be happening online, but it's so secret I cant tell you...”

There could have been 50 people on that call but because you were on an exclusive call or at
an exclusive meeting or you were featured on someones website or talk show you are now
the authority.

Case study...For your authority home work watch 3 TV commercials and tell us how they use this principle to sell medical products, then share your finding with all of us on the network.

Get on, Share, Bring new ideas to the table!
